Season summary:
The Dutchmen JV team finished the season with a 13-3 record. The team registered 9 shutout wins in 16 games but was only once kept from scoring. They outscored the opponents 52-19, amounting an impressing goal difference of +33. From our 20-player roster, 19 contributed points (goal or assist) to an overall season total of 90pts.
Congratulations to all players and Coach Bogue to a well played season.

The boys JV soccer team hosted Colonie on Saturday for their final game of the season. Sean Weaver scored the 1st goal of the game in the 15th minute. David Talone added a second goal during the 25th minute on a corner kick from Andrew Czekay. Guilderland led 2-0 at halftime. The Dutchmen came out in the second half and dominated fromthe beginning. Chris Friguletto scored in the 50th minute. Casey Tynan scored less than a minute later to give the Dutchmen a 4-0 lead. The Dutchmen kept Colonie off the board to complete the 4-0 shutout. The boys JV soccer team finished their season with 13-3 record Congratulations to the whole team and Coach Bogue on their great season.

The boys JV soccer team hosted Columbia on Thursday. Chris Friguletto opened the scoring 6 minutes into the game from an assist from Casey Tynan. John Tricozzi scored 3 minutes later on a corner kick from Logan Hoffman. Chris Friguletto scored his second goal of the game in the 11th minute on a pass from Logan Hoffman. Ryan Sanders finished the scoring in the 1st half on a pass from Jack Lumley. Guilderland led 4-0 at halftime. The second half was controlled by Guilderland  as well. Hugh Smith had the only goals of the half. His 1st goal came 4 minutes into the second half off a rebound. Seven minutes later he added his second goal after an assist by Michel AbdelMalek. The game ended with a final score of Guilderland 6 and Columbia 0.

Bethlehem took an early lead 1-0 lead in the 1st half. They continued to put pressure on the Guilderland defense throughout the first half and added a second goal late in the first half. Guilderland opened the second half with more possession that created some scoring opportunities. They continued to attach throughout the half but were unable to score. Bethlehem won the game 2-0.

Guilderland opened the scoring midway through the first half with a goal by Rubin Chen. Both teams had good chances to score in the first without success. The game was 1 - 0 at halftime. The Dutchmen had the better of the play in the second half but with 5 minutes left in the game, Mohonasen tied the game at 1-1. Overtime looked likely. With less than 2 minutes left in the game, Casey Tynan put away the game winning goal to give the Dutchmen a 2 - 1 victory

Guilderland dominated the first half but were not able to get on the board.  The first half ended 0-0. Early in the second half, Ballston Spa increased their level of play and created two scoring opportunities with no goals scored.  In the 50th minute, Casey Tynan scored on a free kick for the game’s first goal.  Five minutes later, Logan Hoffman scored a goal off an assist by Chris Friguletto to give the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead. Ballston Spa continued to pressure the Dutchmen goal without scoring.  The final score was Guilderland 2, Ballston Spa 0. Hugh Smith and Ryan Knoll were in goal for the shutout victory.

This was a very well-played game by both teams.  The first half was played evenly with both teams having good chances to score.  It was in the 38th minute when Chris Friguletto scored a goal from a pass by Michel AbdelMalek.  The half ended with the Dutchmen ahead 1-0. Saratoga increased the pressure during the entire second half.  Guilderland stood up to each Saratoga attack and were able to finish the game without allowing a goal.  No goals were scored in the second half. Guilderland won the game 1-0.  Hugh Smith was in goal for the shutout victory.

The Boys JV Soccer Team visited Voorheesville for a non-league game on Saturday. Casey Tynan opened the scoring 19 minutes into the 1st half on an assist from Logan Hoffman. Casey added a second goal 10 minutes later on an assist by Rubin Chen. Logan Hoffman scored 16 minutes into the second half to increase the lead to 3-0. The assist came from Danny Tietjen. Michael AbdelMalek scored less than a minute later on another assist by Danny Tietjen. Sean Weaver scored the last goal of the game on a corner kick from Rubin Chen. Dutchmen win the game 5-0.

The Dutchmen boys JV soccer team hosted Troy on Thursday. The first half only yielded one goal for the Dutchmen even though they held an edge in possession. Casey Tynan scored the only goal of the first half. Guilderland went into halftime with a slim 1-0 lead. The Dutchmen opened the second half with a goal by Rubin Chen from a free kick. Michel AbdelMalek scored with approximately 7 minutes remaining in the game from a pass by David Talone. Logan Hoffman completed the scoring with a goal off Kajaro Evans. The final score was Guilderland 4, Troy 0.

09/20/2016 @Albany: Albany 2 - Guilderland 1

The boys soccer JV team traveles to Albany for their game on Tuesday. The game opened with a couple of threatening scoring opportunities for the Dutchmen. None of the threats led to a goal. Albany opened the scoring halfway through the first half. The rest of the half was played mostly in the middle of the p[itch with no real scoring chances. Albany held a 1-0 lead at halftime. Albany scored 15 minutes into the second half to lead 2-0. The Dutchmen began putting more pressure on the Albany defense until Ryan Sanders played a centering pass to Peyton Septer at the top of the box who then scored on a well placed shot. The goal was scored with 10 minutes left in the game. The Dutchmen increased their pressure trying to get the equalizing goal. Several chances were created with no goals scored. The final score was Albany 2, Guilderland 1.

09/19/2016 @GHS: Guilderland 5 - Niskayuna 4

The JV Boys Soccer Team hosted Niskayuna on Monday in a very entertaining and offense dominant game. Niskayuna opened the scoring in the 4th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Logan Hoffman scored during the 16th minute to tie the game. No more goals were scored in the first half. Guilderland came out and scored off the opening kick when Matt Kinnally played a long pass to Chris Friguletto who placed a shot past the Niskayuna goalie. Niskayuna then responded within two minutes to tie the game at 2-2. Logan Hoffman scored during the 54th minute off an assist by David Talone. Niskayuna tied the game at 3-3 during the 59th minute on a penalty kick. Guilderland again took the lead on a goal by Michel AbdelMalek during the 65th minutes from an assist by Logan Hoffman. Niskayuna again showed their resilience by tying the game once again on a corner kick in the 70th minute. Both team continued their attacking style until the end of regulation with no further scoring.  4 - 4 score going to overtime. Guilderland scored during the second minute of overtime on a goal by Danny Tietjen off of a long pass from Andrew Czekay. Guilderland wins the game     5 - 4 improving their record to 6 - 1.

When the Boys JV soccer team hosted Averill Park on Thursday, Chris Friguletto opened the scoring 6 minutes into the game on an assist from Matt Kinnally. Guilderland controlled the first half but were unable to add to their lead by halftime. The second half began with a goal from Casey Tynan three minutes into the half. Chris Friguletto had the assist. At the 73 minutes mark, Logan Hoffman finished the scoring on an assist from Danny Tietjen. The game ended with the Dutchmen winning 3-0. Ryan Knoll was in goal for the shutout.

The Dutchmen Boys JV soccer team improved their record to 4-1 by beating Burnt Hills 3-0 on Tuesday. The two teams played a scoreless first half with Guilderland having the better of the play. Chris Friguletto opened the scoring 3 minutes into the second half on a feed by Michel AbdelMalek. Rubin Chen scored 5 minutes later on a corner kick from Matt Kinnally. Zach Madeksza scored with less than 5 minutes remaining in the game to complete the scoring. Hugh Smith was in goal for the shutout.

Game 4

09/10/2016 @GHS: Shaker 3 - Guilderland

The Guilderland JV boys soccer team played Saturday at Shaker. The game was started with both teams displaying strong attacking styles. Guilderland opend the scoring approximately 10 minutes into the game when Logan Hoffman scored directly in front of the box after the Shaker goalie could not handle a cross from the sideline. Shaker then responded with two goals in the next 15 minutes. The first half ended with Shaker leading 2-1. Guilderland came out playing very aggressively and scored 10 minutes into the second half. Casey Tynan scored on an assist from David Talone. Shaker then scored to take a 3-2 lead 20 minutes into the second half. The Dutchmen then scored to tie the game with about 15 minutes left. Logan Hoffman scored with a strong header of a corner kick taken by Matt Kinnally. Casey Tynan scored the final goal of the game off a free kick taken by Logan Hoffman to make the final score 4-3 for the Dutchmen.

The Dutchmen Boys JV soccer team played their home game against Shenendehowa. The game opened with a strong push by Shen and they opened the scoring within the first 10 minutes. Shen scored three more goals in the first half to lead 4-0 at halftime. Shen came out in the second half and scored a fifth goal. The Dutchmen got on the board with a goal by Andrew Czekay off a free kick from about 30 yards out. Shen scored one more goal to complete the scoring. The final score was Shenedehowa 6, Dutchmen 1.

The Guilderland Boys JV Soccer team played their second game of the season against Schenectady at home. The Dutchmen dominated from the start scoring seven goals in the first half. Danny Tietjen opened the scoring with an assist from Casey Tynan five minutes into the game. Danny scored again five minutes later with an assist from Logan Hoffman. Casey Tynan continued the scoring in the 14th minute from Logan Hoffman's second assist. Jack Lumley scored midway through the first half to give the Dutchmen a 4-0 lead. The assist on this goal was from Chris Donohue. Michael AbdelMalek scored the 5th goal on an assist by Ryan Sanders. Peyton Septer broke away late in the first half and scored the sixth goal. Michael AbdelMalek scored the last goal of the first half on a pass from Nick Sanza. The only goal of the second half was by Schenectady 20 minutes into the half. The final score was 7 - 1. Hugh Smith and Ryan Knoll played in goal.

The boys JV team began their season with a visit to CBS. The game started with equal possession by both teams. As the game went on, Guilderland began to take control. During the 25th minute, Michael AbdelMalek put away a rebound in front of the CBA goal to start off the scoring. Five minutes later, Ryan Sanders scored on a well placed header off a corner kick by Andrew Czekay to give the Dutchmen a 2-0 lead. Danny Tietjen scored two minutes into the second half on an assist by Logan Hoffman to extend the lead to 3-0. Casey Tynan scored the 4th Dutchmen goal during the 55 minute, assisted by Chris Friguletto. Guilderland continued to control the game until the end with no further scoring, The Dutchmen won the game 4-0. Hugh Smith and Ryan Knoll combined for the shutout.
