The Dutchmen hosted Niskayuna for the 2017 season finale on Thursday. Guilderland came out from the start and controlled the game. Owen VanDeusen scored on a well struck shot during the 7th minute. Bugra Karaca had the assist. Aidan Doyle scored during the 34th minute from a lovely pass from Caden Rosenblatt. Ryan Knoll was in goal during the first half with Guilderland leading 2-0 at halftime. The Dutchmen continued their strong play in the second half. In the 42nd minute, Ryan Hoyle received a pass from Owen VanDeusen and beat the Nisky goalie from 25 yards out. In the 78th minute, Julius Negel scored an unassisted goal. In the 80th minute, Bugra Karaca scored a goal with the assist from Julius Negel. Ryan Kirchof was in goal for the second half. The Dutchmen won the game 5-0 and finished their season with a record of 11-4.

10/10/2017 @GHS: Guilderland 1 - Shaker 2

The Boys JV soccer team hosted Shaker on Tuesday. The game was very well played in the first half with both teams having scoring opportunities. Neither team could break through and the game was scoreless at halftime. The Dutchmen got on the board during the 52nd minute when Nick Sanza scored on a corner from Peyton Septer. Shaker tied the game at 1-1 during the 60th minute. Shaker kept up the pressure and took the lead on a goal in the 72nd minute.Guilderland tried to score the equalizer but were unable to put one past the Shaker goalkeeper. Shaker prevailed 2-1. The Dutchmen fall to 10-4 on the season.

10/05/2017 @Colonie: Colonie 2- Guilderland 0

The Boys JV soccer team visited Colonie on Tghursday. Colonie had the better of the play in the first half. Colonie scored the only goal of the half in the 22nd minute. The second half found the Dutchme pressing forward a bit more aggressively than in the first half. Unfortunateluy, Colonie scored their second goal of the game during the 53rd minute. The rest of the game found the Dutchmen trying to get on board to mount a challenge but were thwarted on every opportunity. Ryan Knoll was in goal during the first half while Ryan Kirchof played in the second half. The Dutchmen record falls to 10-3 and they will host Shaker on Tuesday.

The Boys JV Soccer team hosted schenectady on Tuesday. They won their second game in a row by a 9-0 score. Aidan Doyle and Owen VanDeusen each had two goals in the game.  David Talone, Ryan Kapusinsky, Nick Sanza, Caden Rosenblatt, and Ryan Hoyle each scored one goal. Nick Sanza and Peyton Septer had two assists. Further assists were provided by Caden Rosenblatt, Jack Lumley, and Shreyas Raman. Ryan Knoll and Ryan Kirchof again combined for the shutout.

The Guilderland Boys JV team improved their record to 9-2 after a 9-0 victory when they visited Mohonasen on Monday. Julius Negel and Aidan Treanor each scored two goals. Nick Sanza, Aidan Doyle, Caden Rosenblatt, Theo Green, and Shreyas Raman each added a goal. The assists in this game came from Owen Van Deusen, Julius Negel, Ryan Hoyle, Theo Green, and Peyton Septer. Ryan Knoll and Ryan Kirchof combined for the shutout.




GAME 10
09/28/2017 @Burnt Hills: BH 1 - Guilderland 4

Guilderland came out in the first half and had thebetter of the possession. The team was kept off the scoreboard until the 38th minute when Caden Rosenblatt made a pass to Nick Sanza who sent a well placed shot past the Burnt Hills' goalkeeper. Guilderland went into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Ryan Kirchof was in goal during the first half for Guilderland. Burnt Hills came out in the second half and tied the game in the 55th minute. Nick Sanza scored the next two goals of the game (67th and 74th minutes) to finish off his hat trick. Collin Kapusinsky had the assist on ech of the two goals. Guilderland added a final goal in the 79th minute. Bugra Karaca had the assist on Caden Rosenblatt's goal. Ryan Knoll played in goal for the second half. The Dutchmen improved their record to 8-2.




GAME 9
09/26/2017 @GHS: Guilderland 1 - Shen 0

The game was delayed twice because of the heat index. The first half was played with Shen having more possession but not many threatening goal scoring opportunities. Guilderland threatend the Shen goal on counter-attacks but were unable to score. The first half ended with no score. Ryan Knoll was in goal for the first half. The second half was very much like the first half except each team had a promising scoring opportunity. Ryan Kirchof, in goal for the second half, made a game saving save during the last 10 minutes to keep the game tied. Eighty minutes of play ended with no score. The overtime period was tightly contested. In the 93rd minute, Peyton Septor placed a corner kick directly in front of the goal where Ryan Hoyle beat two Shen defenders for the game winning header. Guilder land beat Shen 1-0 improving their season recored to 7-2. The JV team will visit Burnt Hills on Thursday.




GAME 8
09/23/2017 @Saratoga: Saratoga 2 - Guilderland 3

The Dutchmen were caught on their heels early in the game when Saratoga scored two goals a minute apart in the 6th and 7th minute. Right after the second Saratoga goal, the Dutchmen appeared to settle down and started to effectively pressure Saratoga in the offensive end of the field. In the 27th minute, Chris Donahue calmly placed a shot past the Saratoga goalie to cut the deficit to 2-1. Aidan Doyle had the assist on the goal. The score remained 2-1 at halftime. The Dutchmen started the second half playing well. Consistent pressure led to a goal from Aiden Treanor during the 47th minute. Collin Kapusinsky had the assist on the game-tying goal. Guilderland was awarded a penalty kick in the 69th minute. Ryan Hoyle scored the goal to give Guilderland a 3-2 lead. The remaining time saw a few scoring opportunities. The final whistle blew with the Dutchmen winning the game and improving their record to 6-2.

09/19/2017 @GHS: Guilderland 2 - Averill Park 0

The Boys JV Soccer team hosted Averill Park on Thursday. The Dutchmen came out early and held the better of the play. During the 23rd minute, Ryan Hoyle made a strong pass across the goal to Aidan Doyle who slotted the ball past the Averill Park goalkeeper. Despite the big possession advantage during the first half, the score remained 1-0 at halftime. The second half started relatively evenly. In the 64th minute, Collin Kapusinsky sent a low driving cross across the front of the goal where Nick Sanza beat the goalkeeper to make the score 2-0. There were several more Guilderland opportunities, but no more goals were scored. Guilderland won the game 2-0. Ryan Kirchof was in goal for the shutout. Guilderland is now 5-2 on the season and will visit Saratoga on Saturday.

09/14/2017 @GHS:  Guilderland 0 - Ballston Spa 1

Assists: 0

Dutchmen JV hosted Ballston Spa on Thursday. The game was played evenly in the first half with both teams having good chances to score. Both goalies were able to keep the game scoreless at halftime. The second half started relatively evenly. As the game progressed, Ballston Spa began to have more of the possession. With 7 minutes remaining in the game, Ballston Spa was able to score past a diving Ryan Kirchof. The last few minutes of the game saw Guilderland try to puch forward for the equalizer. After a few encouraging opportunities, time ran out and Ballston Spa won the game 1-0. Guilderland is now 4-2 on the season and will host Averill Park on Tuesday.




GAME 5

09/12/2017 @CBA:  CBA 1 - Guilderland 3

The JV soccer team inproved their record to 4-1 on Tuesday after defeating CBA 3 to 1. Nack Sanza opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game on a long pass from Jack Lumley. CBA tied the game at 1-1 during the 15th minute. The game remained tied through halftime. Guilderland came out and scored a goal during the 47th minute. Aidan Doyle took a pass from Collin Kapusinsky and scored past a diving CA goal keeper. Six minutes later, Ryan Kapusinsky converted on a mad scramble in front of the goal to give Guilderland a 3-1 lead. No other goals were scored. Ryan Knoll and Ryan Kirchof were in goal for the Dutchmen.



GAME 4
09/07/2017 @GHS: Guilderland 3 - Bethlehem 4 (OT)

The Dutchmen JV team hosted Bethlehem on Thursday. The Dutchmen opened the scoring 11 minutes into the game when Owen VanDeusen scored off a pass from Nick Sanza. Bethlehem tied the game 6 minutes later. With 5 minutes left in the first half, Nick Sanza took a pass from Peyton Septer and blasted a shot past the Bethlehem goalkeeper. Guilderland led 2-1 at halftime. Bethlehem quickly tied the game 3 minutes into the second half. Nick Sanza got his second goal of the game during the 61st minute to give Guilderland a 3-2 lead. Bethlehem showed their tenacity by again tying the game with 7 minutes remaining. No further scoring during regulation so the game headed into overtime. Both teams had good scoring chances during overtime. During the 98th minute, Bethlehem scored the sudden death winner to hand Guilderland their first loss of the year 4-3. Ryan Knoll and Ryan Kirchof were in goal for the Dutchmen.



GAME 3
09/05/2017 @Columbia: Columbia 1 - Guilderland 3

The Boys JV Soccer team visited Columbia on Tuesday for their third contest of the season. Guilderland held the better of the play during the first half but were unable to score until the 31st minute. Owen VanDeusen scored from about ten yards out on a well plassed pass from Chukwuebuka Ojukwa. The halftime whistle sounded with Guilderland leading 1-0.  Guilderland  came out quickly in the second half. Collin Kapusinsky scored on a well struck shot off of the far post in the 41st minute. Nick Sanza had the assist feeding Collin in stride to allow the first touch shot on goal. Ryan Hoyle made the score 3-0 in the 51st minute. He dribbled in front of the goal maintaining possession until he was able to score from about 25 yards out hitting the bottom of the crossbar. Ryan Kirchof was in goal for the Dutchmen and had two highlight saves to keep Columbia off the board. In the 67th minute, Columbia broke up the chut out attempt. The game ended with a 3-1 Guilderland win.



GAME 2
08/31/2017 @GHS: Guilderland 2 - Albany 1

The Boys JV Soccer team played Albany HS on Thursday for their second game of 2017. Guilderland opened the scoring in the 5th minute. David Talone took a free kick from about 30 yards from the goal. His chip into the box was deflected by an Albany defender into the goal.The game flow was pretty even during the first half but no other goals were scored. Guilderland led 1-0 at halftime. Ryan Kirchof was in goal during the first half. In the 53rd minute, Peyton Septer scored on a pass from Aidan Doyle to increase the Guilderland lead to 2-0. During the 73rd minute, Albany was awarded a penalty kick which they converted to make the game 2-1. For the second straight game, Guilderland had to hold on to a late one-goal lead. Just as in the first game, the Dutchmen held off their opponent to preserve the 2-1 win. Ryan Knoll was in goal for the second half.




GAME 1
08/29/2017 @Troy: Troy 2 - Guilderland 3

The Boys JV team opened their 2017 season on Tuesday at Troy HS. Collin Kapusinsky opened the scoring with a goal in the 9th minute off of a corner kick from Peyton Septer. Guilderland had the better of the play but were unable to add to their lead by the end of the 1st half. Peyton Septer scored in the 52nd minute to make the score 2-0. Peyton received a pass from Bugra Karaca outside the penalty area and hit a beutiful shot into the top left corner of the goal. Peyton scored again in the 57th minute to add to the lead. Nick Sanza had the assist. In the 60th minute, Troy was awarded and scored on a penalty kick cutting the Guilderland lead to 3:1. Troy scored again in the 69th minute making it 3:2. During the last 11 minutes, Troy had a few opportunities to tie the game but none better than a mad scramble in front of the Guilderland goal in the last minute of the game. After bouncing around the penalty area, Ryan Kirchof was able to pounce on a loose ball to end the last threat of the game. Ryan Knoll was in goal during the 1st half while Ryan Kirchof was in goal during the 2nd half.
