10/04/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 3 - CBA 2
Goals: Rosenblatt (1), Francis (1), Tynan (1)
Assists: Treanor (1), Knapp (1), Van Wormer (1)

A CBA team with many familiar faces came to Guilderland today. CBA got on the board first to lead 1-0. Caden Rosenblatt leveled the score just before half-time, assisted by Aiden Treanor. Early in the second half, Guilderland took the lead off a corner kick. Shoun Francis provided the goal, assisted by Ryan Knapp. Quinn Tynan gave the Dutchmen a 3-1 lead, assisted by Jonathan VanWormer in the 60th minute. CBA kept pressing and scored a second goal in the 70th minute leading to a very frantic final 10 minutes. Guilderland stood up to the challenge and closed out the 3-2 win.

10/02/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 2 - Albany 2
Goals: Rosenblatt (2)
Assists: Treanor (1), Doyle (1)

This game was rescheduled from the day before due to weather. Albany came to Guilderland today ready to play. We got behind early but kept working. It was a physical game with slippery playing conditions. Guilderland tied the game just before the half with a goal from Caden Rosenblatt, assisted by Aiden Treanor. Momentum seemed to be in the Dutchmen's favor. Aiden Doyle found Caden Rosenblatt for his second goal of the game. The lead did not last long, as Albany tallied two minutes later to tie the game at 2. The boys battled the rest of the game and through overtime, creating several opportunities. Cameron Frey came up with a one-handed save in overtime to preserve the tie. Don't usually mention officiating, but today they were incompetent. This was an exciting, hard fought game. hats off to both teams for the effort.

09/27/2018 @Bethlehem: Bethlehem 3 - Guilderland 0
Goals: 0
Assists: 0

Dutchmen JV visited Bethlehem today. Chilly fall day on a soggy field. We jumped out to a good start and applied a lot of pressure on Bethlehem. Unfortunately, that exposed us to a counter attack and we gave up an early goal. Boys kept working but just couldn't put anything together. Bethlehem added a second just before half on a header from a corner kick. Second half was a back and forth struggle. Bethlehem controlling possession while we played kick and run. Our team worked hard the whole game and did not quit. Bethlehem added their third goal late in the game to seal the 3-0 win.

09/22/2018 @Ballston Spa: Ballston Spa 1 - GHS 3
Goals: Rosenblatt (2), Raman (1)
Assists: Tynan (3)

A Saturday morning matchup at Ballston Spa got off to a slow start for the Dutchmen. Ballston Spa was a scappy team and put plenty of pressure on us right from the start, creating several chances. Guilderland opened the scoring in the 15th minute off  direct kick from Quinn Tynan finding Caden Rosenblatt for the goal. We doubled the lead in the 25th minute with Quinn Tynan finding Shreyas Raman for the second goal. Right after the half, Quinn Tynan added his third assist on the day, finding Caden Rosenblatt for his second goal. The 3-0 lead was never comfortable and the boys worked really hard to limit B'Spa's opportunities. We conceded a goal in the 70th minute and stood up to a frantic attack for the final 10 minutes. Guilderland continues to make the most of it's chances. Caden Rosenblatt's composure and quality finishing along with our stingy defense gives us a chance to win every game.

09/20/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 0 - Shen 1
Goals: 0
Assists: 0

We hosted Shenendehowa today. The game was a contrast in styles. Shen's possession game vs. our kick and run. The game was decided by a PK in the 70+ minute to give Shen the 1-0 win. What the score doesn't tell is that it was one of our best games of the season. Shen dominated possession in 2/3's of the field but failed to create many solid chances. Our defense kept it's shape and the communication was fantastic. We defended as a team. We continue to get better at winning the 50/50 balls. On the counterattack, we created several solid chances but couldn't find the back of the net. The loss today brings our record to 5-4. The next game is Saturday, 9/22, 11am at Ballston Spa.

09/17/2018 @Gloversville: Gloversville 1 - GHS 5
Goals: Joseph (1), Rosenblatt (1), Francis (1), Suresh (1), Burleigh (1)
Assists: Burleigh (2), Doyle (1), Tynan (1)

On Monday, the boys trekked to Gloversville for a night game. The score was not indicative of the game. Four goals scored in the first 10 minutes before Coach pulled in the reigns. Jeff Burleigh packed the score sheet with a goal and two assists. Cameron Frey stepped out of goal and made a rare field appearance. He managed to hit the woodwork twice. Which leaves us wondering ... is the post really the goal keeper's best friend? This one left both home and away fans scratching their heads on how this one was scheduled. Next game is home Thursday 9/20 vs. Shen.

09/15/2018 @Shaker: Shaker 1 - Guilderland 3
Goals: Rosenblatt (1), Knapp (1), Francis (1)
Assists: Raman (1), Tynan (1), Rosenblatt (1)

The JV team visited Shaker HS today for an early 11:00AM game. After an 8th minute goal by the host, JV got down early but never quit working. The second half saw the boys step up and start winning more of the 50/50 balls. That work paid off with three early second half goals. In the 51st minute, Caden Rosenblatt after an assist by Shreyas Raman, started a new scoring streak (we hope) with his goal to tie the game. Two more goals in quick succession, 60th Ryan Knapp and 65th Shoun Francis, secured the boys a 3:1 final sore and a win at Shaker. The assists for the two final goals came from Quinn Tynan and Caden Rosenblatt, respectively.
Next game will be a non-league game on Monday, 9/17, away at Gloversville.

09/13/2018 @Colonie: Colonie 3 - Guilderland 0
Goals: 0
Assists: 0

Guilderland JV boys were on the road today at Colonie Boys got behind early and couldn't seem to pull it together. It took the host only the better part of the first half to put the game away with three unanswered goals. Of note, Cameron Frey saved a penalty kick in the opening minutes.
On Saturday, 9/15, the team will travel to Shaker HS for an early 11:00AM game.

09/11/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 9 - Columbia 0
Goals: Rosenblatt(5),Doyle(1),Francis (1),Qu (1),Zwack (1)
Assists: Tynan (3), Doyle (1), Suresh (1) Petti (1), Zieba (1)

On Tuesday, the JV team hosted Columbia and treated everyone in attendance with a barrage of shots resulting in a total of nine goals for the Dutchmen. Caden Rosenblatt had an outstanding performance with five goals and Quinn Tynan provided three assists. Again, the JV roster demonstrated a great versatility by having six different players again involved in scoring and sharing assists. Next game is on Thursday 9/13 at Colonie.

09/06/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 3 - Averill Park 0
Goals: Doyle (2), Rosenblatt (1)
Assists: Joseph (1)

On Thursday, the Dutchmen hosted Averill Park. Aiden Doyle opened the scoring for Guilderland in the 27th minute giving his team a 1-0 lead into halftime. After the break, Caden Rosenblatt continued his streak of scoring in every game sofar with his goal in the 47th minute, after an assist by Charles Joseph. In the 72nd minute, Aiden Doyle scored his second goal of the game providing the final score for a 3-0 win for Guilderland JV over the guests from Averill Park. Next game 9/11 at home against Columbia.

09/04/2018 @Troy: Troy 0 - Guilderland 8
Goals: Doyle (2), Rosenblatt (1), Francis (1), Knapp (1), Zwack (2), Walsh (1)
Assists: Tynan (1), Doyle (1), Zwack (1), Walsh (1), Burleigh (1)

In a very loop-sided game, the boys jumped out to an early start and never looked back in a 8:0 win away at Troy. Eight different players combined for 8 goals and 5 assists to put the game away early on. Next game will be on Thursday, September 6th at 4:15pm at home against Averill Park.

08/30/2018 @GHS: Guilderland 4 - Saratoga 5
Goals: Francis (1), Rosenblatt (1), Doyle (1). OG (1)
Assists:  Rosenblatt (2)

Spectators at the JV home opener on Thursday were treated to an exciting and high scoring game. After Saratoga took the early lead 10 min into the game, GHS answered quickly with the tying goal  only three min later. From there on, Saratoga scored three more times in a nearly 10-min rhythm to put the game out of reach for our JV ... SO IT SEEMED! In a great effort, the boys fought back from a 4-1 deficit with three unanswered goals of their own in the 60th, 70th, and 73rd min to tie the game 4-4. Unfortunately, after this impressive comeback, only two minutes later Saratoga nets a late goal in the 75th to hang on to the 5-4 win.
Next game: Tue, 9/4 - 4:15pm @Troy

08/28/2018 @Niskayuna: Nisky 2 - Guilderland 1
Goals: Rosenblatt (1)
Assists: Francis (1)

Opening game of the season kicked off against Niskayuna. The boys came out and played well. We gave up an early goals off a deflection to go down 1-0. From there the game was back and forth. We created several opportunities to score but just could not find the finishing touch. Niskayuna added a second goal in the 28th minute to go up 2-0. In the 32nd minute, Shoun Francis played a long ball that Caden Rosenblatt was able to get on the end of and finish for Guilderland's first goal. The heat was the story of the day. The heat index hit the magical number of '96' and the game was called in the 48th minute. The game counts as a 2-1 loss. Home opener will be Thursday against Saratoga.
