Semi Final:  Guilderland and Shenendehowa squared off at Colonie High School in the semi-finals.  For the first thirty minutes of the game each team moved the ball and had some opportunities. Then in the 30thminute Shenendehowa got on the board. The Shen player brought the ball into the box and made some nice moves to turn and get behind the Guilderland defender. Then they placed a low shot just inside the post to beat the diving Guilderland goalie. At the half the score was 1 to 0 in favor of Shen. In the second half, Shen came out strong and in the 42nd minute, Shen put their corner kick in the box and a Shen player headed the ball into the top right corner to put them up 2 to 0. After the goal, Guilderland pushed forward but the Shen defense played well and they seemed to always be in the right place. In the 74th minute, Shen tallied their third goal of the game. The Dutchmen were pressing players forward to score and Shen was able to counter. The Guilderland goalie came out to challenge the defender. The Shen player made a nice move to get around the goalie and the shot just rolled across the goal line ahead of the Guilderland defenders. Shen closed out the scoring in the 76th minute, there was a loose ball in the box and the Shen player placed a shot just inside the back post to make the final score 4 to 0. The Dutchmen played well this year and they finish their season with 14 wins, 3 loses and 2 ties.
